Joseph Kim, MD
PRINICIPAL INVESTIGATOR, MEDRASA SHERMAN
Joseph Kim, MD, is a dual certified physician in internal medicine and gastroenterology at North Texas Gastroenterology Associates PLLC, a gastroenterology and hepatology practice that has locations in Sherman and Anna, Texas. Dr. Kim completed his undergraduate studies at Haverford College, where he majored in Biology. He then went on to study at Temple University School of Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2007. Dr. Kim completed his internal medicine residency at Temple University Hospital in 2010 and his gastroenterology fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in 2013. He underwent an additional year of training in advanced endoscopy under the mentorship of world-renowned endoscopist, Dr. David Carr-Locke, MD, FRCP, FASGE, FACG. Dr. Kim is well-published in gastroenterology literature and has authored two book chapters. Dr. Kim grew up and practiced in the suburbs of Philadelphia for 2.5 years before moving to Texas, and he is excited to start a new chapter in his life in the north Texas area. When he is not practicing medicine, he enjoys playing golf, playing guitar, and expanding his culinary repertoire.

Tanvir Ahmad, MD

Dr. Ahmad is trained in Internal Medicine from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Odessa, Texas with 31+ years of diverse clinical experience. He finished his residency training in 2004 and then joined a private practice in Yakima, WA. He earned his medical degree from Sri Krishna Medical College, in Muzaffarpur, India. Dr. Ahmad also has a post graduate degree in General Surgery. He moved to DFW in 2013 and since then is a part of Mercy Medical Clinic. Dr Ahmad also works at Texoma Medical Center in Denison and Trinity Regional Hospital in Sachse as a hospitalist.

Fauzia Osama, MD

Dr. Osama is trained in Internal Medicine from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Odessa, Texas with 27+ years of clinical experience as an internist and geriatrician. She has extensive experience with the geriatric population through her role as a primary care physician at her own private practice at Mercy Medical Clinical in Wylie, Texas. Her calm demeanor and unwavering commitment to patient care and safety instill comfort in new patients.

Sumbul Islam, MD

Dr. Islam is trained in Internal Medicine from Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan as well Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. She earned her medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She then finished her residency training in 2003 and began to work as an Internist in St. Joseph, Missouri for 13 years. Upon moving to the DFW in 2018, she has worked as a hospitalist for Wilson N. Jones Medical Center and a medical director for Heart to Heart Hospice, Meadow Brook and Pilot Point Rehabilitation Centers. In 2020 Dr. Islam founded her own private practice, Imperial Care Internal Medicine, which she serves as CEO of as well.
